All good things must come to an end, and Anime Boston is no exception. The closing ceremony has been held, the AMV contest winners have been announced, the crowds are leaving, and the cleanup has begun as we mark the end of another year.
But what a year it was! Preliminary attendance numbers say that 21,825 people attended the convention, and the finalized numbers are expected to be even higher. But numbers are only part of the story. The real value of a convention is the experiences, the memories (and merch) that people take away from the con. I’m happy to say that on all fronts, Anime Boston 2013 has been a success.
Should you find yourself overcome with post-con melancholy, I have good news. Anime Boston 2014 will be held on March 21-23 next year. That’s less than 10 months away!
I’d like to end this year’s blog by thanking all of you that attended. Thank you for bringing your excitement and passion to Anime Boston this year. Thank you for the cosplay, the panels, the games, for everything. Thank you for your patience and cooperation with the new security measures. Thank you for the random high fives on the escalators and all the other little things that make cons so much fun.
Really, thank you for everything, and I sincerely hope we’ll see you again next year. Until then, allow me to play you out…
